The Spyder brand originated in 2000 with K.C. Enterprises, a Chicago based company which produced surveillance equipment for law enforcement. While working with high-tech optical imagery, Mark Hudson and Travis Kelly discovered that gel spun polyethylene fibers could be used to transmit digital quality video signals. Various formulas were researched and tested, ultimately resulting in SpyderSilk, the strongest, thinnest, most versatile video cable ever produced.
